How to apply
SOAS students apply using our online application form. To access our online form you need to obtain a serial number from the SOAS Admissions Office. All new students who have accepted a study place at SOAS are sent a serial number by the SOAS Student Recruitment and Admissions Office from February onwards. Continuing and Returning students may get a serial number from the SOAS Registry directly.

When the academic year starts we stop taking applications but students can register on our waiting list for any places that may become available throughout the year.
When to Apply
Our online application form is available from 1st March 2013.
SOAS Continuing students (those currently enrolled and continuing on the same programme in 2013/2014) must apply before 31st March 2013.
SOAS Returning students (those currently or previously enrolled and starting a different study programme in 2013/2014) must apply before 30th June 2013.
SOAS New students have no deadline BUT every year we receive more applications than we have places so early application is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment
SOAS Clearing Students
Students who will enter SOAS through clearing should apply to the SOAS accommodation waiting list. The waiting list will be available online at least a week before term starts in September.
Questions
What if I haven't received a serial number?
Don't Panic! Every new student who accepts a study place at SOAS will be sent a serial number from February onwards. If you have not received
a serial number by June you may contact SOAS Student Recruitment and Admissions Office at the following email addresses:

What if I am overseas and cannot check my email when SOAS sends out the serial numbers?
Notify the SOAS Student Recruitment and Admissions Office in advance and give them an alternative email address of a
friend or relative to send the serial number to.
When will I know the outcome of my application?
We will send you confirmation of your application by email and let you know the dates when you should check your
email to see if you have been made an offer. The first round of offers is normally made at the beginning of July.
What are my chances of getting a place?
Generally new students who apply before the end of June are likely to be offered in the first round in July, but it
depends on the number of applications we receive.
A second round of offers is normally made in August for places still available due to missed deadlines or cancelled applications.

What if my application is unsuccessful?
If your application is unsuccessful we will notify you and advise you on the other options available to you for finding
student accommodation in London. More information is given in SECTION TWO - Our offer process.
Can I apply more than once?
Unfortunately due to the high demand for accommodation only one application per student is allowed.
Can I defer my application?
No, our application process is renewed every year. You would need to re-apply the following year.
What if I have special accommodation requirements?
If you have a disability that may affect your choice of accommodation you should contact the SOAS Disability Officer for
